The third annual function of Gokula Bansuri Gurkul was held at the premises of Gokula, on 04/02/2012, as ‘Gokula Utsav-03’. On this occasion a music programme was held. Among the students, Kum. D. Bhargavi played raag Bhoop on flute and won the appreciation from the audience. Shri Nagaraj Vaidya, Vaidyaheggar accompanied her on tabla.
The second item was flute recital by Shri Kiran Hegde, Magegar. He played raag Yaman and raag Durga and a bhajan effectively. Shri Lakshmeesh Rao, Kalgundikoppa, provided a good tabla accompaniment.
The final programme of the ‘Utsav’ was a vocal concert by Pt. M.Venkatesh Kumar,Dharwad, one of the well-known hindusthani vocalists of India. Pt.Venkatesh Kumar sang for about two hours presenting raag Jog ,Saraswati and some kannada devotional songs. His concert took the audience to a new world and left the listeners mesmerized. He had the able accompaniment on tabla by Shri Keshav Joshi,Bangalore and on harmonium by Shri Guruprasad Hegde, Dharwad.
