The sixth annual function of Gokula Bansuri Gurkul was held at the premises of Gokula, on 09/02/2015, as ‘Gokula Utsav-06’. A music programme was held on this occasion. Among the students, Shri Niranjan Hegde played raag Madhuvanthi on flute and won the audience appreciation. He was accompanied on the tabla by Shri Vinayak, Sagar.
The next event was a vocal concert by Shri Bhargaav Bedur (Ananya Bhargav). He presented raag Madhukauns and a bhajan.He had the perfect accompaniment of Shri Shivananda Vairagkar, Pune, on the tabla and Shri Prakash Hegde, Yadalli on the harmonium while Shri Prakash Bhat, Tumbebeedu provided tanpura support.
The final event was a classical flute concert by Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, a legendary flutist who has performed in almost all major music festivals of India and abroad. Pt. Rajendra Prasanna played for more than two hours presenting raag Gorakh Kalyan, Kedaar and Chandrakouns. He also played a Thumri, a Kajri a Chaiti and a bhajan. His concert left the audience mesmerised. He concluded the event with Bhairavi. Pt. Rajendra Prasanna was accompanied nicely on the tabla by Shri Gurumurthy Vaidya, while Shri Shakthidhar Iyyer supported on the flute.
